Sujata Rana is an HIV/AIDS specialist with over 17 years of experience
designing and implementing HIV and other health programs including Water,
Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and nutrition globally. She received a BA in
Oriental Studies from Oxford University in the U.K. and an MPH in
International Health from the University of Washington in Seattle. She
started her career working in rural Nepal on a women's literacy program
before co-founding the first harm reduction program in Asia working with
injection drug users in Kathmandu.
Ms. Rana has extensive experience in developing implementation strategies
for engaging Most-At-Risk Populations (MARPs) such as sex workers,
injecting-drug users, orphans and vulnerable children. She served as
HIV/AIDS & Substance Use Adviser at the World Health Organization (WHO) and
UNAIDS providing technical assistance to WHO member’s states, other UN
agencies and NGO partners. She has designed and implemented Vitamin A and
Safe Motherhood programming in five districts in Nepal with Helen Keller
International. Currently she is CHF International’s Senior Health Advisor
providing technical direction to public health programming including multi-sectoral
approaches to HIV/AIDS, behavior change-related HIV/AIDS prevention and
treatment, orphans and vulnerable children, counseling and testing,
integrated care, support, treatment and adherence. She lives with her
husband in Columbia, Maryland. |
